My tercel just clicks when I turn the key any ideas?

Bad/rusty ground connection? Check your battery positive post to engine block voltage. Should be around 12.5vdc

what was it doing before to make you put a new battery in it and new starter on it?

Just for anyone who looks this up in the future, it more than likely is a bad starter/starter solenoid, possibly bad ignition switch but very rare.
