What is your question?
After applying the parking brake and then releasing, the brake remains on even after several attempts to release it. I overcame this issue yesterday by simply driving forward and the brake then disengaged. What would cause this?

The parking brake cables should release tension on the parking brake mechanisms in the rear wheels when the release is engaged. If this does not happen, it could be that the release mechanism is malfunctioning, or the cables may be binding. You could also have a concern with the brake shoes at the rear wheels and the accompanying hardware. A physical inspection is needed.
