my 2000 tacoma has a torn boot, i dont think greese has flown around so it was recent, its not the cv boot connected to the wheel, it's the rear one, which im a little unclear of the name of? it's longer and looks like it might be connected to the transfer case on the axle since it looks pretty clean can i patch it or what would be the part needed to replace? thank you! sorry im not too familiar with this part of car work

Rear driveshaft slip yoke boot. I don’t know if a permanent repair - however I have seen some DIYer’s attempt to use a tire tube patch for repair - I have my doubts about any repair methods. Replacement is what I recommend. Good luck!
