What is your question?
My key will not turn in the ignition switch. With my foot on the brake and the key inserted, I AM able to unlock the steering wheel. After messing with it(trying to turn it) for about 10-15 minutes and about to give up and call roadside assistance, it decided to turn and start the truck. It IS NOT a worn key problem. I have my original spare that has NEVER been used and that would not work either. I am the original owner and HAVE NOT had this problem for 22 years but now it has happened twice in 3 weeks. Is it a worn ignition switch? Can the switch be pulled with pulling out the dashboard?
How long has your 1998 Toyota Tacoma had this problem?
twice in the last three weeks

Just for the heck of it - using the red straw - spray several shots of WD-40 into key slot - it may help... Search YouTube for lock cylinder replacement video - not practical to attempt posting the procedure here. Good luck
