HI When I do that eng lite flashes steady (forever) Do you have any idea why I lost power after a 5 hour trip at 70 mph. Ican drive using 1/2 throttle but as soon as I go past that it cuts back and looses power. Some one told me that the fuel pulsation dampener is probably at fault. Thanks Dwight
Continuous flashing means no codes.. Try changing fuel filter.. Make SURE the big intake tube from air cleaner to intake is not cracked or leaking at any point!!
I appreciate your intrest. I replaced fuel filter, fuel pump, tried used coil, tps, air flow valve, coil wire in that order. I was 400 miles from home when this happened. It drove home over the coquahala hiway which has huge climes I had to baby the throttle because if I pushed it past 1/2 it would loose power. I am a retired mechanic ,this has me baffled. Dwight
Possible restricted cat but that's a guess... Sure sounds like a fuel delivery problem though!.. Look over that fresh air tube..cause if it's got a leak at all there, it will cause your symptoms.. There is a flapper inside the air cleaner cover that controls fuel and it must move with air flow and a leak in the tube will not let it work properly!.. Good luck with it!
Has no cat. It has been removed. Muffle seems oK it doesn't hiss Oh yeh even tried a ECM No difference.I haven't taken fuel pressure yet I am trying to fing my gauge. I think it should be around 35 lbs. Dwight
It was the diaphragm at rear of fuel rail that has banjo fitting that fuel line hooks up too. I cut it apart but found nothing wrong. It runs great now. I found a used one at auto wreckers for 30 bucks. Thanks Dwight
