What is your question?
When filling tank at the gas station the tank filler latch won't stay clicked on so you never know when the tank is full as it normally would automatically click off. It keeps clicking off the nozzle holder. Also have a Prius and have no problem with it when filling. Station attendants have said the reason this happens is that there is a sensor of some sort in the tank that indicates when the tank is full and automatically clicks the gas pump off. Have even tried numerous stations and pumps and the same thing happens all the time on the RAV4 making it very difficult to know when to stop putting gas in without it running over.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Problem only when filling gas at the gas station.
How long has your 2008 Toyota RAV4 had this problem?
At least one year.

The fuel tank is not venting properly - this requires *hands-on* evaluation by qualified personnel.. It is likely a failed component of the evaporative emissions system (EVAP) that can be tested with a professional quality scan tool. Good luck!
