1992 Toyota PU truck will not shift into overdrive. Current mileage is 280K...new motor, transmission rebuilt @ 150K. Understand there are 2 solenoids (an exterior & interior). Could a faulty solenoid be the problem and how can you determine which one?

You’d likely be ahead of the game to have an experienced mechanic test drive the truck - there are multiple possibilities and well trained personnel can detect a plethora of clues simply by driving the vehicle.. It may just need the decent cable adjusted - however this will require *hands-on* evaluation in any event. Good luck!
