I have one reverse light staying on when lights are on ,could you tell me why

Have helper turn key on and shift into REVERSE (no other lights on) while you observe rear light - does reverse light show through the red tail light section ? .. IF so - there is a broken, dislodged or missing baffle between the tail light section and the reverse light section..
