You will need to start by checking for power at the pin going to the headlight bulb. If there is power to your volt meter with the headlamps switched on then it's a contact issue. You may try cleaning the contact in the socket or tightening the pins. Alex

Replace blown left headlight fuse.

Thereâ€™s a fuse for left side low beam - and a fuse for left side high beam - same thing for the right side - - use link below for diagram : http://www.autogenius.info/toyota-matrix-first-generation-mk1-e130-2007-2008-fuse-box-diagram/ BTW - owners manual has great information for such things!
