What is your question?
A mechanic is selling me his manual toyota echo 2003 model in fairly good conditions and moderate price (1600 USD) . I'm a student and can't afford luxury cars. Only issue in my mind is that it has already run 3 hundred and 50 thousand kms. I want to know what is the useful life if Toyota echo engine. IF i purchase it, would i be able to get another hundred and 50 thousand kms from it or should i look for other cars. The overall condition of the car seems to b very good. Any suggestions wud be appreciated

Let's talk MILES as in actual odometer reading! .. 350,000 km is like 217,500 miles, should get 300,000 'miles' (and more) without major problems IF well maintained! .. I routinely see that out of these vehicles at the shop... That's just the norm of course, not a guarantee.
that's a little over 217,000 miles.around 17,000 per year on average. the Echo took the place of the Tercel in 2000 and was manufactured until 2005,and the Tercel was from 1995-1998,both with the 1.5L engine, although the 2003 has a timing chain verses the 1995 engine has a timing belt.Wifey has a 1995 Tercel and hers is just a plain jane vehicle, with manual crank windows,A/T,a radio, heat and air,2 door DX model! have not had any problems with the car, just normal maintenance, although i did have to replace the FACTORY starter last year! replaced the cv axles 4 years ago.she has 225,000 miles on the clock, and believe me she keeps the tires rolling on that little car! most all of the miles on it are stop and go,short distance miles.the front brake pads have been changed only a few times, and the rear drum brakes i changed 3 weeks ago,but didn't need to be,but i replaced them anyways along with all the hardware.the 2003 Echo should last you a long time, just keep the oil changed and should never have to change the timing chain! good luck...
Thank you boys. U guys have really given me confidence to go for this car. I hope everything works out well for me.
you're welcome.....
