My 2008 Toyota Corolla S check engine light is on due to a sensor that controls speed? Dropped the transmission pan an changed the fluid was going to change sensor but they sent the wrong one. Put fluid back in an the light went out for a good while, that was last year so it passed inspection. Now back on for this year an wondering if their was a easier way of getting the light out. Need it quick because my tag has already ran out because of this light! Don't have the money to take to a mechanic.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing just stays on for a good while before it goes off again.
How long has your 2008 Toyota Corolla had this problem?
1 year

There is no free way to pass here if you have a code that keeps setting in the computer. You need to fix the issue, drive the car and make sure that all the readiness codes are set. Alex
ain't going to happen quick.either replace the bad part,or you might get autozone to clear it for you,BUT it's most likely going to come back on.if somehow you can get it off and maybe get lucky like last year, maybe disconnecting the battery? BUT,then all your readiness monitors reset to not ready and you'll have to do a drive cycle, maybe 50-100 miles normal driving to get them to set to ready.NC allows this>>>> • 1996 through 2000 model year vehicles are allowed to complete the OBD II inspection with up to two monitors set as not ready • 2001 through current year model vehicles are allowed to complete the OBD II inspection with one monitor set as not ready...good luck
Yep,you don't have to worry bout that there! I live 4 miles from the SC line and they have NO inspection, emissions or safety, although I have not had a problems with mine in NC,lots of folks here in NC will go into SC and register an address/PO BOX, so they don't have to worry with it either!
The emissions testing is pure BS ! Safety inspection is a different story - I like the fact I’m ‘supposedly’ not driving on public roadways with death traps coming at me...
