Pushing in the brake on my 2005 Toyota Corolla (automatic) no longer allows me to shift it into gear. I can shift it without problems if I push the little manual release button (that is more for emergency purposes I believe). However, the brake lights aren't responding when I push on the brake pedal either and I have heard the two can be connected so I replaced the brake light switch with a new one and I checked all the fuses... but nothing has changed and I'm not sure where to go from here. I would really appreciate any help you have to offer. Thanks!
