What is causing the rear brake lights to stay on all the time onmy 02 Toyota Corolla?

The rear brake lights stay on all the time in my 2002 Corolla. The car has been parked for 2-3 years and I recently started it up again after about 2 weeks of driving with no problems. The lights just stay on now, somebody said it could be the brake light sensor but i don't know where it's located or how to fix it.
