Even after the engine warms up, there is excessive vibration when it is cold out, is this caused by a sensor resistance that is sensitive to ambient temperature?

Suspect failing engine mount... Passenger side - upper mount... Likely it is more pronounced in colder temps. https://youtu.be/yiHFxPDPYFk Copy & paste the above link - it should show and tell all you'll need to know!
The first place I would look is under the dash. Scan it for codes. I don't suspect you will find any, but just make sure the ECM isn't storing any fault data. Second, is the car warming up to its normal operating temperature, or just warm enough that you can use your heater? Lastly, the engine mounts might be suffering. Have they ever been inspected or changed?
Engine mounts are common but it may be something fuel related. Fuel Pressure regulators are common too on these causing a rough run situation. We should probably check it out. Give us a call. 248 888 9406. Ask for bill or jason.
