AUTOMATIC GEAR SHIFT IS LOCKED

Are you sure your steering wheel is not bound against a curb or something else

I had this happen to my daughters car. Just to the side of the gear shift panel on top is a square plug. Remove the plug with a flat head screw driver. Inside of that opening down low is a button you can press with a small phillip screw driver. Press that and pull the gear shifter and it should work. I have not figured out why this has happened or how to fix it the original button.
