It's a Toyota.... Fix it!! It's got a bunch more driving left in it! Check out 'Carolina Auto Supply' for the parts!!... Better price than salvage yard, and good fit/quality also!!.. NEW bumper about $35.00...NEW grill $10.00... No joke, I just looked!!.. Google it... I own a 93.. A Deer decided to run into my passenger front fender (literally)..... Cost me only $17.00 for the NEW fender from C. A.S.! ..Fit like a glove... I fixed it back and 'finished it right' for less than $100.00 total... Now, I did all of the work, so there was no 'markup' on parts nor labor charge!
Strange to be answering my own question, but here goes. The problem was a bad distributor, which I discovered while doing a tuneup of the car. I removed the distributor cap to install a new rotor and was surprised to find copper wire fragments inside the distributor cap--big red flag. I look at the distributor armature and found that the fragments appeared to have some from this armature, so I immediately ordered a new one. I installed the new distributor and the warning light was gone. Problem solved. It would be remiss of me if I didn't mention that Scotty Kilmer had suggested that the distributor was the problem weeks before I discovered it, myself.
What does that have to do with the original posted question?? This car has body damage, not ignition problems!!!!!!
