how do i know if the tension on the timing belt is too tight?

dose it ha a self tensioner on it if so it wouldent be to tite if anything to loss take it to autozone or discount and they will hook up a tester it the check engine light comes on for free and that can give you a good start.(If they cant tell you from there let me know.)

if it has a self tensioner it should be ok but the belt will make a howling sound if its to tight
