When I start the car my shifter will not move at all I cannot get it to go in reverse it has approximately 68000 miles
What makes this problem better or worse?
It started out just a few times a week now it will not shift at all

This could be an issue with the stop lamp switch. Make sure the brake lights work. If they don't that is your number 1 suspect. If not it could be a shifter issue and will need to be inspected.
