That's beyond 'reasonable' repair for a 2000 year model!!!.... Check with an independent repair shop about a salvage engine... What exactly happened to this engine? They usually run MANY more miles than what you stated,(190,000) For real.!
That crazy I change it for a lot less then 1000 if u buy engine in Ohio lol
Cylinder #3 rod failure rod bearing. This is what I was told.
Anything is possible... It's just that I've seen that 2.2 engine go 350,000 on a regular basis with no problem!.. It's a tough little engine but....Stuff happens!... Is the car in good shape otherwise?
Can you explanation what that means in what happen to engine. Sorry don't know much about cars.
Normally rod bearing failure is due to lack of oil or over revving but not limited to that!... Can't advise over the Internet! It needs to be disassembled and inspected to determine the cause.... Good luck with it!
I always check my oil and have it change every 3 months or 3000 - 4000 miles.
