i think you mean it's a 4 cylinder 2.2L..if you've had the battery and the alternator/charging system tested and someone has confirmed that the battery is BAD,then either a group 35 OR GROUP 24F( WHICHEVER ONE WILL FIT IN THE TRAY BEST) is the OEM battery for your car,800 CA and 640 CCA or a group 24F, 800CA and 640 CCA.walmart"s batteries are made by the same manufacture as rip off local parts stores with the same warranty,BUT CHEAPER! mine takes the same one,I have a 98 Camry 2.2L....
Walmart has a 'Value Power' battery for $49.95 .. The 24 F will fit in your vehicle. I have one in my old Corolla - I figure I can buy 2 of these at this price and still be under the prices other places charge - it's been doing a fine job so far.. Their Ever Start Plus 24F is $75.00 ..
Same manufacturer - yes, often Johnson Controls, the best battery maker in the business. However, same manufacturer does not mean same result. Different batteries are made to different specifications even by the same manufacturer. You'll have different internal construction of the battery, different amounts and construction of lead plates, solders, and sulfuric acid combinations -- I respect what Pushrod is saying, but I also know that you DO "get what you pay for" most of the time... The bigger concern, frankly, is to also ensure you have a proper securing hold down for your battery, as ensuring it does not rattle around in the engine compartment of your vehicle will save you from repeat failures more than anything else.
Everyone has their own opinion - that’s what forums are for - it’s a good thing! Group 24F *fits* the vehicle using factory battery hold down .. 1999 2.2L doesn’t need a $150.00 ➕ battery .... Well aware of ‘brand specific’ manufacturing properties - also well aware that ‘brand name’ doesn’t necessarily net a better end product.. Example > Lawn tractors are mfr by American Yard Products (AYP) I know a thing or two about brand specific quality and what it truly brings the consumer in the end. (My brother owns a Forestry - Lawn & Garden business.)
Additionally - I used to help out in the service / repair department at my brothers store and have witnessed for myself that many times for an additional $500.00 you get a different set of decals and another color paint .. It’s the same through the products sold in retail business. There are ‘some’ exceptions of course - however BRAND NAME is simply going to cost more without any other benefit. Then there’s the matter of ones personal budget that must be considered.. Sorry for the bs: (It’s raining here again - nothing else to do) Y’all have a nice weekend!
Most other places get twice that price! .. As stated - batteries are made by same mfr.
