Let the service manager know , if they continue to hit you with 'scam' money makers , you will take your business elswhere! like #1 answer states , unless there is a problem present , that is an unnecessary service. Yours is 2011 with how many miles??? Has their quality gone down that much since 1995--Proud example- my Camry...346,338 miles (yesterday) and still good (like original) airflow , even ALL original compressor , alternator engine , trans............so , seriously , clean an evaporator , after 3 years WITH cabin filter protection? I'd like to smack the adviser that tried to sell you that!!!
Owner: If the airflow volume is good, and there is no odor problem, you do not have to clean the evaporator. Evaporator cleaning is more often needed when pets are in the vehicle, or if it is operated in very dusty conditions, or if an odor is noticed.
Appreciate your answer. No pet or dust, car always garaged. This was a dealer recommended some sort of "shooting foam cleaning" maintenance. Thanks
