I have a crack in my dash. Always garaged. Why?

What is your question?

I have a crack in the dash on the right hand side of the car. It starts on the plastic part only visible when the door is open and extends above the glove box door and into the vinyl on the dash. I have always garaged my car and if I am away from home have put a block out visor in to reflect the sun.
