The door lock actuator rear used for front?

I paid the mechanic $100 to put a Keyless entry for this car. When it's done, the driver side door didn't react to the remote and the mechanic said it was due to the door lock actuator for that door went bad. I went online and searched for the after market door lock actuators and found one that's for driver side rear door. Can this actuator be used on the front door?
