1999 Toyota 4Runner - ect power switch not working

1999 Toyota 4Runner - my ect power switch stopped working at the same time my AC stopped blowing cold. Not sure if the 2 issues are related, possibly through a shared fuse? The switch still moves in and out between the 2 positions, but it no longer turns on the "ect power" light on the dashboard. Please help me diagnose this. It's seems quite a coincidence that the AC stopped blowing cold at the same time.
