What is your question?
I am trying to decide whether to buy an extended warranty on my car - 4 years, 48,000 miles for around $3000. Do you think it is worth it? What are typical repair costs for my car from 100,000 to 150,000 miles. I don't mind of Subaru makes some money on me, but I don't want to be totally dumb about this big decision.

Ask the warranty provider specific questions about the coverage.... Read the fine print!!!!.. Find out 'exactly' what's covered!!!... 3 k will pay for a right smart of repair... Just saying!!! Try Google to see what others think of it...
yes, I did read the fine print and most of the "big" things are covered in full which is good. I just don't know how many of the "big" things are likely to go wrong. It seems Subarus are pretty reliable, but then again, timing belts, struts, anything with the computer or electronics can be costly. Just don't know. Is there a reference anywhere to typical kinds of repairs that often occur in the mileage range of 100,000 to 150,000?
There is no typical repair that 'may' occur at any mileage!... Timing belt should be replaced before 100k.. There are a lot of loop holes in most of these warranties... It totally up to you!!... Try Google to see if Subaru has fixed their leaky head gasket problems... That's a problem that 'might' arise, however $3,000... Well, it's your call... But then again, it's a gamble either way, I guess!... While on Google, look for a Subaru forum and check it out... Lot of owners info there!.. That's better than a repair site because it more specific to problems with a certain make/model...
thanks, I will take a look at the sites you suggest.
