What is your question?
Sometimes my vehicle 2007 Subaru will not start (2X daily). I have only been successfully starting the vehicle after I tap on the starter motor with a hammer or large wrench. What is wrong with the vehicle? Thanks. DIY TommyT

Pretty much explains itself, dontcha think??...... Replace the starter!!
I have been through 3 starters on my 95 Legacy and now need a 4th. One time, it would not stop cranking until I removed power at the battery. The others failed as yours is doing. Banging it either frees up a stuck solenoid, shaft, or contact brushes. I'm wondering if the position on the engine at the top contributes to a heat related problerm. I am going to try some sort of cooling solution by insulating it or ventilation.
Try a 'Power Supreme' starter from NAPA !... Stop buying junk from lesser auto parts stores!!
Amen to that! I went through 3 "Lifetime warranted" starters from Autozone in 2 weeks for a 1976 Corolla. After I got my core back I told the guy "What the hell good is a Lifetime Warranty when I am the one on my back under the car replacing them?" By the way, I had my core rebuilt at a local shop that does them for farm equipment. Price was about the same and it was like new.
LOL... Damn good point!!!... Yeah, they are glad to make the starter good, but that don't get it off of and back on the vehicle, and a Corolla ain't the easiest one to swap out either!!.... Used to have a rebuild shop that did great work but thanks to Zone and Advance...well you get the picture. .. I never had any problem with the independent shops starters and alternators!.. The Power Supreme from NAPA is a reman...but with ALL the latest upgrades that's available! ... More money but..... It's good s--t!! Later.
