Noisy brakes

Thank you. I have an appointment with the dealership repair shop on Monday (which is on the repairpal list.) Until then, I am going to get my neighbor to take me grocery shopping.

I believe this car has been sitting in water for some time, although the sole owner had it garaged. It is not only the brakes: the air filter, radiator, transmission, brake fluid condition, steering fluid, and ALL brake pads are marginal. I am looking into trading it in, and getting another from the dealership. Would Carfax help? For $5000.00, it seems like it was a real lemon, considering I got it 8 months ago. Please give me some advice, if you feel like it.
