Battery and brake light comes on

Just might be that too. Brakes are fine but battery is 8 years old. It takes a charge but brake light and battery light comes on after 15 mins of driving

Some Toyota models also illuminate 'both lights' when charging system fails! .. Suggest testing alternator output at the battery terminals while both those lights are on .. Engine idling should have 'around' 14 volts.

Ended up changing the 8 year old battery then original alternator.... Works well for now ...no more lights on...thank you for the advice
