all lights go dim and bright at startup and during drive

This sounds most like your voltage regulator. Connect probes to the battery terminals and check voltage. If it fluctuates with the lights, the regulator is probably bad. It is integrated into your alternator. Make sure you know what engine speeds the problem occurs at to make it easier to pinpoint the issue.
