What is your question?
After a minor front end crash, the body shop removed & reinstalled the radiator and replaced the radiator support. After we got the car back it overheated. The Subaru shop performed a system pressure check and no leaks were detected. No exhaust gas was found in the coolant. They determined the thermostat had melted and needed replacement. Could this have been related in any way to the body shop's work on the radiator?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Engine is not overheating since thermostat was replaced
How long has your 2015 Subaru Forester had this problem?
No overheating problems after the accident. Started after the body work completed.

The thermostat melted? Did anyone verify that all air pockets were purged from the cooling system? No, I do not think the radiator installation could "melt" the thermostat.
Never seen a thermostat “melt” before....
