My ac isn't working on my forester. I was hoping you could help.

What is your question?

I turn on the car and turn the ac on but sometimes it doesn't want to turn on. After a while it'll engaged and work. The compressor turns on because I hear it make that noise like releasing gas or something. But, as of right now it's not working. I was hoping maybe it's a wire or something.
