RED brake-light in dash typically indicates a fact in the brake system - - park brake is applied - - low brake fluid. Rear brake bulb failure - not likely.

FAILURE in the brake system (typo) .. Park brake lever may not be going all the way down - - other system failures possible. Replace failed rear bulb - did that fix problem?
