Has anyone had long term success rebuilding a subaru 2.2L engine?

What is your question?

My head gasket blew on the original 2.5L engine. Replaced with a used 2.2L and now have a bad ring. Suggestions? Some say subaru has a "throw away engine" and rebuilds don't really work. Rebuild or look for a new car???

Another car IN another make!!! ..... It's beyond 'reasonable' repair!... My experience with 'long term' Subaru repair has not been satisfactory... TO ME....Even though the job was done right... with top quality parts!!
