I just put in a new ignition swirch in and now the security switch is flashing. Is there a way to program it so it wont flash?

I had to remove the whole ignition switch out of my car. I went and got another one and I put it in last night. When I turned the key to see if it worked the security light started flashing and hasn't stopped. Do I need to program it or what can I do to get it to stop flashing.
