I do not want to over tighten

Since I've been doing auto repair - for-ever - I automatically know what proper valve cover fastener torque 'feels like' .. You'll need an *inch pound torque wrench* to achieve this OR have an auto repair savvy friend tighten the bolts for you. Using a small - 1/4 inch drive ratchet for leverage - the bolts need to be pretty snug but not cranked down to the point of valve cover distortion .. After operating vehicle for a couple days - check bolt torque once again. Good luck.
