We have changed everything on the coolant system and it's still running hot the fan kicks on at lost what it could be
What makes this problem better or worse?
It gets hot after running for a while
How long has your 2002 Saturn SL1 had this problem?

Look over all the hoses when it's over heating. Make sure none of them are collapsed. Also make sure the fan is spinning in the right direction. It should be sucking air in from the the front of the vehicle. Alex
