Transmission leaking alot near front right tire. Still shifts no problem.

You are right. Its the front driver side. The fluid is red. I drove it home 3 miles it was dripping out and made a mess by the driver door and fluid is low. I've added a quart back but not driven it. I had no shifting problems. My mom had the car since 2004 first and never serviced anything on the transmission. Could it need a filter and fluid change or the line cracked? Can't afford to purchase rebuilt one, Christmas is 3 weeks away ☹.

There are a few possibilities but I'm guessing one of the fluid lines from trans to radiator has developed a leak... Fluid is under pressure and will spray out and make a mess... This is just my online guess! âž°

The transmission filter was loose and dirty. I changed it and no more leaks.

Cool !...... Forgot about the spin-on trans filter... Glad it's fixed!
