Why would a failing thermostat cause a message like that, since there is nothing electrical about a thermostat.
The thermostat is responsible for engine temperature .. IF the thermostat is intermittently stuck in the open position, then the engine will NOT reach proper operating temperature until the thermostat starts working properly .. The temperature gauge on the dash will reflect this and that message will also be displayed accordingly!!!
