how do you know the battery is still good?the old alternator drained it,when it went bad what is the voltage on the battery, with the car off, should be 12.6 volts?what is the voltage on the battery with the car running, should be 13.5-14.5 volts?anything less, you have a bad,new alternator right out of the box, unless all connections were not hooked back up when work was done on the car.if you don't have a volt meter, take the car to the Zone, they check for free.battery must have a full charge on it to check alternator, while still in car!
You need to have the charging system checked. The battery light stays on when the alternator is not charging the battery. Bring it our shop to be diagnosed.
