What is your question?
This has only happened 3 times. While driving around town I wold park the car to grab stuff etc... I would then try to start the car to go home and it would just turn over without starting. However, if I left it for 10-15 min's it would start up no problem. The car never gets hotter that it's operating temp during these moments. The first time happened last year in the spring after a long drive. The second time happened 3 months ago while running errands in town and the third time happened 2 weeks ago accompanied by a check engine light. Car has had minor repair's done for other issues. These include new fuel filter & pump, new gear box. It also had a better transmission put in it before I bought it. It was my mechanic's son's car. I am broke but I know some basic car mechanics and was hoping I could fix it myself.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Only happens after I've parked it and was at operating temp
How long has your 2005 Pontiac Sunfire had this problem?

IF it is a guess you’re seeking then replace the crankshaft position sensor. IF you want to discover the what is causing the no start condition seek *hands-on* professional assistance for diagnostic testing. Good luck!
Keep in mind intermittent failures are very difficult to diagnose - even for a seasoned technician!
