How to fix dashboard oil pressure gauge on 1990 pontiac sunbird LE.
What is your question?
I don't know how or why it happened, but the oil pressure gauge,(dashboard), for my 1990 pontiac sunbird LE has buried the needle and won't rebound back to zero when engine shuts off. Is there a fix or remedy to zero out the needle, or just buy an aftermarket oil gauge which I do not want?
What makes this problem better or worse?
The problem exists whether the engine is running or not. The gauge is constantly buried.

Possibly s shorted oil pressure switch - unlikely but a possibility .. Suspect / more likely the oil pressure gauge has failed.
