Is there a way to change fuel pump with out dropping the tank, I dont want drop it

Is there something else that could cause my problems besides the pump.

What makes this problem better or worse?

I can spray starter fluid in the intake and it will start and run fine after about two or three sprays

How long has your 2002 Pontiac Montana had this problem?
