a friend said its a pressure control gasket probably bad how long do I have to fix it before the transmission completely fails

Probably??... You got to scan the transmission to find out what the problem is, it could be any number of things causing harsh shifting.. The TPS or MAF can do it for example!

Could be a pressure switch...Any time the transmission is not working correctly it should be looked at and fixed soon . The longer you drive on it the more damage you will do.
