this seems to be the only problem -- noisy? very frustrating -- haven't had a car newer than 1994 EVER, so I'm really excited about this adorable red car. price is only $1500 -- maybe $500 to have a mechanic do the wheel bearings? I just don't know!!!

Most likely wheel bearings. It just needs to be determined which wheel is making the noise. as you put more force on one side of the vehicle the failed bearing will make more noise. as you turn the other direction and unload the failed bearing the noise goes away. Cheers
IF that's what the noise is,but really needs to be driven and inspected by a good mechanic RepairPal Fair Price Estimate for Wheel Bearing Replacement - Front - Both on 2006 Pontiac G6> $663.00-$1208.00> Estimate Details- Parts & Labor Breakdown- Estimate does not include taxes and fees.Parts: $384.00 - $852.00 Labor: $279.00 - $356.00> Included Parts>> 2 wheel bearing hub assemblies> you can buy the parts on e-bay for a fraction of the parts house price,if you have someone to install them for you, name brand parts.MOOG or TIMKEN.With Anti Lock Brake System or Without, makes a little difference in price.E-bay has very good prices, compared to local parts houses(big mark up), for the same or better parts.MOOG PART NUMBERS,EITHER 513214 with ABS OR 513215 without ABS.
