Hello, if the fuel gauge dropped to empty, it's an indication that there is some kind of power issue at the pump. The sending unit, which provides the gauge information is attached to the pump itself. I am not sure what kind of pump you installed, or if you installed a pump with a sending unit as an assembly, but this is likely key to the problem you are having. Testing is needed for the pump and sender circuit and also the pump and sending unit itself.
