Poor connection at the battery terminals, remove cables, clean well, install and tighten!!! ... IF no luck there, check fusible link at starter!... IF not there.... Check for battery voltage at big red wire at alternator two wire connector with key on and at the post at the rear of alt. at all times.... post results for more info!!!
I have cleaned everything negative grounds and positive.. I have voltage from the alternator... But no power at all to the car no lights or anything.. Acts like the battery is dead.. But had the battery tested and is good..
Yeah i know that but.....IF you will follow my suggestions you should find the problem!... Jumper a wire from the big post in the back of the alternator to the big red wire in the 2 wire connector on the alternator with headlight switch on and see if they come on...... Let me know the results!
It worked the headlights came up and the lights came on in the car.. What foes that mean
Try the headlights while jumpering the two wires!
It worked.. What does that mean???
Down at the starter solenoid there is a fusible link... a funny looking thing on the big wire.... NOT the battery cable, but the big wire... Using a test light....Check for voltage COMING FROM that wire on the back side of that funny looking thing... If none... That thing (fuse link) is your problem!!... It's burned out inside and needs to be replaced!... Let me know!...
Where can I find those fusible links am I able to just cut it off and run a regular wire to it..
Well,, I didn't tell you to do it but........ Try NAPA... That's all I got for you at this time!... Happy motoring..
I didn't do anything to it yet.. Was just asking if that is the prob can Ido that.. II'm still working on checking it.. I can check it with a volt meter correct
Yes, that will work!... That wire is the main ignition feed, that's why you lost all power to the accessories and cranking circuit. Keep us posted so other readers may benefit!
I have no clue what happened but I got under it grabbed the wires to the starter they moved and now there's power to the car..
Yes, I am sure it is!!!!!'... There you go...... BTW.... You're welcome ...........................9-8-2014
