What is your question?
I'm thinking of purchasing a 2004 Pontiac Aztec. It has 79,000 miles on it. However sometimes it has no heat and over heats. It's not all the time so I thought thermostat but that wasn't it. But don't see any leaking or fluids mixing. Any ideas before I decide to purchase the vehicle or not. If I go borrow a good code reader should there be any trouble codes or is this issue just trail and error part after part. From what I've found the thermostat is a really fun job.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It idled today for 45 mini and was all good. It oy has 79k miles
How long has your 2004 Pontiac Aztek had this problem?
Car sat in garage for 2 months

First you state the thermostat wasn't the problem - then you indicate the thermostat hasn't been replaced .. Only advice we can offer is *hands-on* testing by qualified personnel.. I also strongly recommend a combustion leak test!
