Wires in steering console not connected need help

It won't start or crank, we had a new key made and learned it with the 3 times 10 minutes thing, and then I got to looking at other possibility a all fuses are good just those 2 wires seem to be unhooked from a piece I can't locate

Why all of a sudden it wouldn't crank?? What pulled the wires loose to cause this problem??

I just bought it guy started by bridging the starter I just figured it was the key missing the transponder, which it was but after the relearn process no change in anything it still will not crank at all, I decided to check the ignition switch and discoverd the 2 wires un attached from where ever they go, I found a picture on google and some one had been asking about those wires, I've identified them using a wire chart the yellow on is ignition and the green is starter 2# In the picture it looks like the wires run into a white thing on the key switch assembly, the 2002 pontiac I have seems to being missing the white peice I can't identify
