Right, about 2 years ago I opened left side and it would not close. I took it to a mechanic and he got it closed somehow but he said he could not find the problem so he disconnected them. I have checked the connections at the switches and at the motors, and I have tried a new switches but still not working ! Are those windows wired through the ECM ??
FIRST - using a test light or volt meter, *test* for power at the vent window motor wire connector as helper activates window switch with key ON... IF power is present, using applicable tool, tap motor to see if it responds, suspect failed vent window motors which is a common problem .. Search YouTube, should find a video showing motor replacement..... Key word = TEST!
Interior trim has to be removed to access vent window motor and wire connection.. However you should know that, since you've already checked the connections at the motors (?)
I pulled the panels again, rapped on the left motor and tried it. It opened and closed 1 time and quit ! I rapped on the right side and tried it. It moved just a little bit and quit ! So now I'm looking for new motors ! Thanks Again !
Go to eBay and search for the replacement motors, got the best price and I have good luck with the parts on my personal vehicles! .. I don't use them on customers vehicles because of the long turnaround time IF there happened to be a problem .. However I use eBay parts with no problems at all for MY stuff! .. It's the same parts you get at the parts stores anyway... Just at a better price....... Compare prices with local parts stores.
I went ahead and got a pair at a local salvage yard for $25 each. $50 each was the cheapest I found on-line and $84 each at the auto parts stores !! I'm selling the van so I don't want to put more into it than I have to !!
