2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue I replaced evap purge solenoid when codeP0446 came up. Check engine light is now off, my question will it pass smog because I disconnected negative cable from upon installation of purge valve?

Monitors on vehicle? This vehicle was sold to a client of mine in which service engine light was on. I was expecting to do a drive cycle after installing purge solenoid just in case the CEL was still on . Another mechanic told me it won't pass because I disconnected the cable during installation of purge valve. I was told by these smog technicians that their machines can detect disconnection or rebooting the PCM. But won't it detect only because people who need smog but can't fix CEL .Does the
PCM Calibrate itself to the coponent which it takes considerable time?
The ECM 'monitors' various components during drive cycle(s) and if these components pass the 'test monitoring' then it is set as COMPLETE in ECM memory, until battery voltage is lost or memory is reset with scan tool.. If there is still a problem within any of the tested systems, the monitor for that system test is set as incomplete.. . http://repairpal.com/how-to-perform-a-basic-drive-cycle
